Presented by Council of Energy Resource Tribes & Bucyrus International, Inc.
The Pfister Hotel ~ Milwaukee, Wisconsin
June 15 and 16, 1999
Agenda

THE VISION
Tribal leaders will present a practical Energy Vision of partnerships with government and industry. It is a Vision of energy sufficiency and sustainability for growing Tribal populations and economies based upon Tribal sovereignty.
THE NETWORK
CERT and regional intertribal organizations conducted nine regional Tribal conferences giving Tribes current information on energy trends and government policies. Indian Energy '99: A National Tribal Summit culminates this work.
PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS
Some twenty energy companies provided support to the round of intertribal energy conferences. There is a new air of cooperation underway as Indian Tribes and private industry seek win-win relationships. Industry executive will speak towards this new emphasis on strategic partnerships.
PUBLIC PARTNERSHIPS
New federal policies are making electricity produced from federal water projects available to Indian Tribes. In addition, Tribes and the U.S. Department of Energy are working diligently to bring new technologies for energy production and energy efficiency to Tribes throughout the country. Government leaders will discuss how electricity deregulation will affect Tribes as both consumers and producers of electric power.
ENERGY FORUM
Every year, CERT and the host company of the American Spirit Award Dinner sponsor the Energy Forum to foster better understanding of the issues that affect Tribes and industry. This year's Energy Forum will bring elected Tribal Leadership, industry executives and government representatives to discuss first hand how they are moving to implement the Tribal Vision.
AMERICAN SPIRIT AWARD DINNER
